ABOUT RIM

Retirement Planning Should Feel Personal. Because It Is.

Retirement Income Matters was built around a pretty straightforward idea:

People deserve to understand what's happening with their retirement money. Your retirement income matters!

That shouldn't be revolutionary. Sometimes it feels like it is. At RIM, good planning starts by listening — not presenting. We want to understand what you've built, what you're concerned about and what you want the next 20 or 30 years to look like.

Then we can talk about money.

Retirement Isn't Theoretical Around Here.

Mike is one of eight siblings, so retirement has become a pretty regular topic of conversation in his family. Three of his siblings are now retired RIM clients themselves — and, more importantly, they're out enjoying it.

Mike and his wife also have two children and a grandchild, so many of the questions families bring to RIM sound pretty familiar:

How much is enough? When can we retire? Can we spend more and worry less? What do we want to leave to our kids?

Those real-life conversations are a big part of how Mike approaches retirement planning.

The numbers have to work. Of course they do.

But ultimately, the numbers are there to support a life.

WHY RIM

A Different Kind of Retirement Conversation.

Mike believes retirement planning works better when the conversation starts with the person — not the product.

What do you want retirement to look like? What are you worried about? How much certainty matters to you? What would make you feel comfortable actually spending and enjoying the money you've worked so hard to save?

Only then should the numbers — and possible solutions — enter the conversation.

That's the thinking behind The RIM Method™: combining the analytical side of retirement income planning with the very human decisions that come with retirement.

Because two people can have similar savings, similar ages and completely different ideas of what a good retirement looks like.

And they probably shouldn't get the same plan.
